This is a new and exciting role within this global Healthcare organisation. The main responsibility will be to execute our client's Professional and Clinical Affairs strategy in the South and Emerging Markets countries.

 
The role:

• Increase the reach and frequency of our medical communications among surgeons and, where applicable, patients, by managing a network of Key Opinion Leaders and Key Endorsers within your region.
• Manage activities associated with the execution of clinical research, data analyses and interpretation, and summaries of relevant products, technology and competitive issues/opportunities.
• Manage the execution of seminars and presentations for all major ophthalmic conventions by facilitating effective communication between the Company and presenters for events.
• Support the execution of Medical Communications initiatives across EMEA by providing clinical expertise and coordinating the dissemination of clinical information across the EMEA region.

Key Opinion Leader/Key Endorser management

• Assess and define a group of KOLs by detecting high potential and future leaders.
• Ensure appropriate selection and optimum use of KOLs who are currently or potentially involved in clinical marketing and strategic communication projects.
• Manage relationships with these groups to ensure the follow-up of loyalty operations.
• Manage and execute programs which enrol, engage, and constantly improve the productivity of our relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Key Endorsers and other required influencers and communicators.
• Constantly improve and measure the sales impact and efficiency of our KOL and KE activities through the use of tracking dashboards.
• Ensure high quality external and internal eye care training, through a network of internal training specialists.
• Provide support for programs with clinical and professional documentation and coordination where needed.

Medical Communications

• Support the Medical Communications Manager, EMEA in developing the content for medical communications, including (but not limited to) Key Endorser programs and presentations, professional trade journals and other publications, and posters at conferences.
• Develop productive relationships with local trade (and other) publications to ensure maximum and on-strategy coverage of our client's Surgical products.
• Working with your local sales training team, ensure key messages and materials are incorporated and delivered appropriately.

Clinical Programmes

• Work closely with Global and Regional “expert” clinical colleagues to ensure that the right clinical studies are being conducted, with the right customers, at the right time, to deliver the right claims and messages.
• Act as the “voice of the customer” for your region, to help ensure that our client develops and executes an excellent clinical studies programme, and has a leading “share of voice” in relation to our competitors.
• Manage activities associated with the execution of Clinical research Phase IV studies, FOS, data analyses and interpretation of projects, literature reviews/summaries of relevant product, technology and competitive issues and opportunities.
• Assess current regulatory and government affairs policies and interact on appropriate actions in support of business objectives. Be a spokesman to define the medical/scientific needs in the business, validate different marketing tracks proposed, adapt the tactics and strategy.

Requirements:

BSc required in a related field

Ideally an eye related professional qualification.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in management of projects/products in the Eye Care or medical industry
Experience in working at an EMEA level / within a variety of European countries preferred.
Demonstrable experience working surgeons and colleagues in large corporations with various backgrounds/areas of expertise (R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, and Advertising) in order to collaborate on various aspects of communication projects.
Significant experience with the management of communication projects for presentation at major scientific meetings and/or publication in scientific journals.
European languages desirable
